SANDUSKY, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Cedar Point is introducing a new form of entertainment this summer with “Hoots & Hollers,” a stand-up comedy series at the Palace Theatre in Frontier Town. This marks the first time the Sandusky amusement park will feature a regular stand-up comedy engagement.
“Hoots & Hollers” is a collaboration with Secret Society Comedy, a Cleveland-based pop-up comedy club. Founded in January 2022 by comedians Gheramy Demery, David Horning, and Bryan Sternik, Secret Society Comedy has produced over 475 shows across Northeast Ohio, focusing on showcasing nationally touring comedians in intimate settings.
The comedy series will run Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings from June 6 through August 31, with shows at 7, 8, and 9 p.m. The 7 and 8 p.m. shows are recommended for ages 14 and older, while the 9 p.m. show is for those 21 and older. All shows are free with park admission.
The lineup includes notable comedians such as Learnmore Jonasi, a finalist on “America’s Got Talent;” Jeff Scheen, who has appeared on “The Late Late Show with James Corden;” and Mary Santora, known for her observational comedy featured on her album “Hillbilly Boujee.”
“People go to Cedar Point for the thrill of roller coasters and the emotional roller coaster of tension and release that comes with great stand-up felt like the perfect match,” said David Horning, co-founder of Secret Society Comedy.
