Bucyrus firefighters were called to a house fire on Whetstone Street in Bucyrus at 3:12 p.m. Wednesday.
According to firefighters at the scene, a hole in the floor at the residence indicates that the cause of the fire is suspicious in nature.
The one-story home, located at 1160 Whetstone St., is a total loss. According to the Crawford County Auditor’s website, the home is owned by Lola A. Stewart, et al.
No one was home at the time of the blaze. Several neighbors in the area indicated that the people who had been living there moved out on Tuesday but were seen in the area while firefighters were at the scene.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
