GALION – Galion is honoring its military veterans in grandiose style.

Not just on Veteran’s Day, not just by a parade through town, but by a patriotic display of banners on lamp posts all the way down Harding Way through Public Square and overflowing into nearby Heise Park.  Familiar faces of hometown heroes who proudly served in our country’s armed forces.

Bucyrus celebrates Arbor Day

BUCYRUS – Arbor Day in autumn is being celebrated for the first time in Bucyrus.

The city’s Tree Commission on Tuesday planted two Fox Valley River Birch trees at Aumiller Park to mark the annual holiday, which is typically observed in the spring. The trees, which will grow to about 10 feet tall, are near the pool house across from Michalek Family Woods

Galion woman competes in her first bodybuilding competition

Jessica Wagner, 44, has trained for nearly a year in order to compete in her first bodybuilding competition.  She walked away from the event last weekend with a big smile – a second-place trophy in the Master’s Bikini Class for females 40 to 49-year-old and a sixth-place finish in the True Novice Class.
