Cassie Thompson, a sophomore at Galion High School, was selected as the November 2016 Student of the Month. The positive character trait for November at GHS was “demonstrating responsibility.”

Cassie was selected as the winner from a group of more than 20 of her peers at GHS. Those students nominated for November 2016 Student of the Month included: Gabby Akers, Katie Baughn, Marissa Breinich, Kayle Clark, Julie Clouse, Cheyanne Daugherty, Alex Eckert, Anastasia Ensminger, Savana Etgen, Abby Foust, Owen Jourdan, Noah Maguire, Sara Misura, Isaac Niedermier, Kara Painter, Gavin Pennington, David Riddle, Dani Schieber, Kate Schieber, Caleb Strack, Courtney Taylor, Raven VanHouten and Cady Watkins.
“Being selected as Student of the Month is a great honor,” said Thompson. “It shows that the hard work I’m putting in to getting good grades and preparing for my future isn’t going unnoticed.”
Following graduation, Cassie plans to continue her education toward becoming a pediatrician.
“Cassie demonstrates responsibility every day and is a good role model for students,” said High School Principal Ron Williams. “She is very deserving of this honor and I am excited to see what the future holds for her.”
