MOUNT GILEAD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Donna Carver held onto the mayor’s seat here in Tuesday’s general election.
Carver received 695 votes to Chad Swank’s 301. She had served on village council for almost seven years before serving as Mayor Pro Tempore on Oct. 3, 2022 to fill an unexpired term.
In other races:
• Christopher Sherbourne kept his village council seat, gaining 616 votes. He is joined by Mark Phillips, who received 543 votes over Monica Swank’s 347 votes.
• Mount Gilead Village fire renewal passed by a margin of 618 to 451.
• Edison Village passed its replacement levy 82-57.
• Cardington Local Schools board race had Matthew Clinger, 1,184 votes; Chad Holt, 1033 and Sarah Struck 909 votes, with all three gaining seats.
• Highland Local Schools board results showed John Messmer had 1,996 votes and Eric Thacker picked up 1,783 votes.
• Mount Gilead Exempted Village School board winners were Brandie Salisbury, 1,214 votes and Amanda Staley, 1,092 votes.
• Northmor Local Schools had Tim Bachelder receive 1,267 votes and Lisa Cramer 926 to secure spots on the board.
• Municipal Court Judge Jenifer Murphy Burnaugh received 9,068 votes as she ran unopposed.
• Cardinton Village Mayor was won by Troy Ruehrmund with 384 votes to Dale Doty’s 211.
• Bennington Township trustee’s race went to Steve Lewis with 564 over Stephen Serio, 496.
• Peru Township chose Art Close as township trustee over Matt Fisher, 338-229.
• Congress Township trustee seat was won by Jonathan Bosh with 564 votes to Dan Beal’s 420 votes.
• Troy Township elected Michael Heston with 147 votes over John Teaters, 139; Kyle Schroemer, 60; and Edward Huvler, 32.
• Cardington Township passed a replacement levy 585-491.
• Cardington-Lincoln Public Library additional levy passed 1,164 to 945.
• Franklin Township renewal passed 282-273.
• Franklin Township’s zoning plan failed, 355-198.
• Gilead Township fire renewal was approved 1,056 to 875, and the village levy passed 1,172 to 907.
• Harmony Township voters approved a fire levy renewal by a 474 to 434 margin.
• Lincoln Township’s renewal passed 403-273.
• Washington Township voters gave approval to that renewal, 290-165.
• Perry-Congress fire renewal levy passed, 1,042 to 592.
