BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Bucyrus Fire Department Captain Ryan Sparks issued the following farewell note to the City of Bucyrus upon his retirement:
Dear Citizens of Bucyrus,
It has been my greatest honor serving you these last 28 plus years.
Bucyrus will always be my hometown and I will always remember the great memories of growing up and serving its citizens.
I would like to thank you for your support of your safety forces. No matter what the outcome, I felt that I tried my best to serve the public and treat everyone with respect. I don’t consider myself a hero, just a public servant working with a dedicated team of fire, police and hospital staff. I am blessed because I was fortunate to fulfill my calling for over 28 years.
