BUCYRUS—Former Bucyrus Bratwurst Queen Abigail Brocwell has a new National Crown; 2023 Crawford County Ohio Ms. Agriculture U.S.A.

Brocwell, who participated in 4-H for 13 years and currently serves as a 4-H Advisor, is perfect for this crown.

Brocwell felt it was time to get back out there and has had an interest in pursuing this title for some time. “I live it. I support the agricultural community every day,” Brocwell said.

Brocwell plans to visit small farms and agricultural-related businesses. She is excited to visit area fairs in her new capacity.

Brocwell recently attended the Crestline Harvest Festival Pageant. She will be featured in her first parade Saturday at 4 pm, where she will ride in the Galion Oktoberfest Parade.

She was also invited to attend the Swiss Colony Festival Luncheon in Sugar Creek.

In a story first featured in Crawford County Now, Brocwell was terminated as the Bucyrus Bratwurst Festival Queen mere days before her reign was to end.

Her story went on to gain worldwide attention. When asked about that attention, Brocwell told CCN: “ It’s been insane. I definitely didn’t expect this much support.”

Brocwell’s Galion attorney Roberta Wade told Crawford County Now that she is preparing an updated news release on the progress of her efforts to obtain information about the Bratwurst Festival Board’s actions to terminate Brocwell.

The Board has declined public records requests saying they are a private entity not governed by any transparency laws. Wade disagrees and is set out to prove it:

“I firmly believe the citizens of Bucyrus are funding the Bratwurst Festival yet this board thinks they can do whatever they want to do.” Wade said.

Crawford County Now will continue to cover this developing story.
