With the lawsuit over charter abolishment behind it, the City of Galion will have full terms for nearly every city position on the ballot and many are contested races.

David Dayne is challenging incumbent Tom O’Leary for mayor while the post of City Council president will filled by either incumbent Donald Faulds Jr. or challenger Marcy Porter. Dianna Beachy and Rodney Sparks are running against incumbent Brian Treisch for auditor and voters will choose either challenger Thomas Palmer or incumbent Roberta Wade for law director.

As far as at-large City Council seats former council president Gail Baldinger is challenging incumbents Shirley Clark, Thomas Fellner and Jon Kleinknecht for one of three seats up for grabs.

All ward seats will have only one candidate after 1st Ward incumbent Andy Daniels moved out of the city leaving Eric Webber as the only declared eligible candidate for that seat.

Running uncontested will be Steve Rowan in the 2nd Ward; incumbent Michael Richart in the 3rd Ward; and former Crawford County Commissioner Carl Watt in the 4th Ward.
