BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Wendy Ash, 52, of Bucyrus, appeared via video in the Crawford County Common Pleas Court before Judge Sean Leuthold.

Ash was indicted on a charge of tampering with records. The indictment alleges that she tampered with drug tests, home visits, and other computer records while working in social services.

The indictment states:

“Wendy Ash, did, knowing she had no privilege to do so, and with the purpose to defraud or knowing she was facilitating a fraud on (name redacted), falsify, destroy, remove, conceal, alter, deface, or mutilate any writing, computer software, data, or record, to wit: falsified home visits and drug reports. The writing, data, computer software, or record was kept by or belonged to a local, state, or federal governmental entity, in violation of 2913.42(A)(1) and 2913.42(B)(4) of the Revised Code, TAMPERING WITH RECORDS, a felony of the third degree.”

Judge Leuthold ordered Ash released on a personal recognizance bond. A pretrial hearing will be scheduled. If convicted, Ash could face up to 36 months in prison.
