A short police pursuit resulted in a Bucyrus women being arrested in Marion County Thursday.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Marion City Police Department have been experiencing an increased amount of burglaries to businesses recently and stepped up their collaborative effort to solve the crimes.

The Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary alarm at a business in the 1500 block of Marion Waldo Road just before 2:30 a.m. Thursday. Detectives spotted a vehicle leaving the area of the burglary alarm and a short pursuit occurred as deputies and detectives attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle fled from authorities onto Richland Road before ending on Somerlot Hoffman Road where the suspects were apprehended.

Five subjects were found in the vehicle, including two juveniles. Arrested were 41-year-old Michael Cummings, a homeless man from Marion; 34-year-old Nichole Casey of Bucyrus; and 31-year-old Carla Daniels of Marion.

All three suspects were taken to the Multi County Correctional Center after being interview by interviewed by detectives of both agencies. Charges are being submitted to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office on each of them for several counts of breaking and entering, possession of criminal tools, tampering with evidence, and endangering children.
