BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Donald Auck, a dedicated member of the Bucyrus Kilbourne Klovers 4-H Club and the Crawford County 4-H Program, was honored for his remarkable 50 years of volunteer service to the Ohio 4-H program during the Ohio 4-H Conference held on March 8, 2025, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

Auck’s extensive commitment to the 4-H program reflects the organization’s mission, established in 1902, which is to inspire curiosity, build lifelong skills, foster adventure, and cultivate future leaders among youth. His contributions have played a vital role in equipping young individuals with the knowledge and experience necessary to navigate a rapidly changing world.

Membership in the 4-H club program begins when a child is enrolled in 3rd grade and is 8 years old as of January 1 of the current year. Any youth age 9 or older is eligible for project membership, regardless of grade level. Ohio 4-H membership ends December 31 of the year in which an individual turns 19.

The recognition of Auck’s tenure was sponsored by Cargill, highlighting the importance of community support in sustaining volunteer-driven initiatives like 4-H. His dedication serves as an inspiration to both current and future generations of 4-H members and volunteers.
