Bucyrus United Methodist Church invites you to start Advent with the Christmas cantata, “Let There Be Christmas,” at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 29 at the Worship Center, 227 S. Walnut St. in Bucyrus.

“Let There Be Christmas,” under the direction of Karen Scott, is a scripture- and carol-based cantata that emphasizes the Song, Faith, Hope, Peace, Love, Joy, Wonder and Grace of the Advent season as we prepare the way for Jesus’ arrival. Performing are the church’s 37-voice chancel choir, chimes choir and men’s chorus; soloists Sharon Hahn and Lenny Lust; flutist Joanne Rud; bell-ringer Mary Lyons; with accompanists Carolyn Myers and Marcia Burkhart. Signing is by Debbie Bennett.

Carols in the program include: Gloria, O Come All Ye Faithful, I Wonder as I Wonder, Lully Lulla Lullay, The Advent Rose, Every Valley, When Emmanuel Has Come, O Little Town of Bethlehem, Wonderful Name, Run to Bethlehem, Sing We Now of Christmas, Amid the Cold of Winter, and Ring Those Bells.

Bucyrus UMC is led by Pastors Mike Corwin and Becky Smithey. Worship services are Sundays at 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and The Touch at 5 p.m. The Worship Center is handicapped accessible; portions of the service are signed. A staffed nursery is available.
