BUCYRUS―A Bucyrus teenage girl was arrested on Tuesday evening at 7:23 p.m. and taken to juvenile detention when Bucyrus Police officers were called to a residence in the 700 block of Beverly Drive to investigate a domestic violence complaint.

The incident began as a verbal altercation about moving an air mattress before the juvenile girl assaulted one of her parents.

When officers arrived at the residence, the juvenile was throwing objects. The officers’ attempts to discuss the situation with her did not defuse the situation and the 16-year-old girl was arrested for assaulting a police officer after she kicked an officer in the shin.

The girl was arrested and placed in juvenile detention at the Ohio Youth Center in Marysville. She was scheduled to be brought back to Bucyrus on Wednesday for an appearance in Crawford County Juvenile Court.
