Seventeen Bucyrus Student Council members helped spread a little holiday cheer at City Hall Thursday afternoon.

A few of the Student Council members made a return trip to City Hall for the second year in a row for what has quickly become a tradition. The students, along with Mayor Roger Moore, Service/Safety Director Jeff Wagner and Administrative Assistant Eunice Collene, spruced up a Christmas tree and hung paper chains and garland around City Hall. The tree’s ornaments were made by Bucyrus Elementary students.

Freshmen Kayleigh Seiber and Abigail Hoskins volunteered to put up glittery police cars and fire trucks on the windows to the police department.

“It’s better than biology,” Seiber quipped as she sorted through the homemade decorations.

This was sophomore Sophie McAdams’ second time in decorating City Hall.

“It’s really fun,” McAdams said. “I think it’s cool thinking about seeing the Elementary kids’ stuff up.”

All of the girls agreed that they wished they could have done something like this when they were in elementary school — or at least be able to make the decorations as high school students. Either way, they thought that it would be nice for the Elementary students to stop by and see their handiwork on display.

The Bucyrus Student Council members that volunteered to decorate City Hall included: Kim Adams, Jessica Campbell, Shay Campbell, Haley Chester, Max Constantine, Abigail Hoskins, Emily Howald, Kristen Orewiler, Bailey Plumley, Logan Plumley, Ashley Purcell, Taryn Ramsey, Jenna Sabo, Seiber, Seayra Spears, Haley VanVoorhis, and Brooke Walters.
