The Bucyrus Redmen football field will have a new scoreboard for fans to look at in the near future after the Bucyrus City Schools Board of Education approved a contract with Pepsi.
In Treasurer Ryan Cook’s report to the board, he pointed out that the agreement with Pepsi would be worth an estimated $78,000 to help the school install a new scoreboard as well as include sponsorship on the board.
“We would receive $10,000 for this year and $6,000 next year for the score board and $1,500 afterwards each year,” Cook explained.
Superintendent Kevin Kimmel added that he hopes to see the scoreboard up prior to kickoff of the new season.
The board approved all personnel items on the agenda including approving the substitute teacher list from Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center.
During the discussion, Kimmel, along with board, reviewed the Neola Board policy updates. Kimmel noted that changes to the policy include the school providing an opportunity to seek a second opinion on a students’ psychological examination; increasing the alcohol threshold from .02 to .04 to reflect state law, as well as the school not being able to withdraw a student if they reach 105 hours of absences in a school year.
No action was taken on the Neola Board policy updates.
