BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Rotary Club of Bucyrus will host a donation drive for its international service project, MESA (Medical Equipment and Supplies Abroad), on Saturday, Sept. 20.
The collection will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Port Bucyrus-Crawford County Airport, 2254 Isaac Beal Road, in conjunction with the airport’s Pancake Breakfast & Fly In event.
Donations will benefit MESA, an organization that ships millions of dollars’ worth of unused medical equipment, humanitarian, and educational materials to developing countries around the globe. The Rotary Club of Bucyrus also provides yearly financial support to MESA.
Items being collected include:
- Used clothing
- Used shoes, especially children’s
- New or gently used blankets, bed linens, and baby receiving blankets
- Diapers
- Children’s books for grades Pre-K through 6
- Floor puzzles
- Gently used children’s tables and chairs
- Toothbrushes and toothpaste
- Coolers
- Countertop microwaves in good working order
- Rubber/latex gloves
- Wheelchairs
- Crutches
- Dressings with an expiration date of 2027 or later
MESA also accepts used medical equipment from hospitals, doctors’ and dentists’ offices, and nursing homes.
