It may not be as exciting or glamorous as opening an envelope to announce a winner at the Academy Awards or a beauty pageant, but the Republican Central Committee in Crawford County began the arduous process of determining who will be the next mayor of Bucyrus.
The five members of that committee who represent Bucyrus met Monday evening to move that process forward. They will accept applications for the appointment to replace the late Roger Moore as the city’s mayor. Moore died in office May 20 and Council President Sis Love is currently acting mayor.
Those interested should submit a resume` no later than June 13 addressed to the Republican Central Committee at P.O. Box 367 in Bucyrus. All applicants must be a resident of the City of Bucyrus. Submitted information should include address, social security number experience the applicant believes is relevant to the position of mayor.
Applicants will be subject to a background and credit check.
The Central Committee has until July 4 to name an interim mayor.
