BUCYRUS―From a fire on Hopley Avenue to negotiations to succeed in helping a war veteran, Bucyrus Police officers were kept busy on Tuesday.

8:11 a.m.-Officers investigated a report of a suspicious person in the 1700 block of Whetstone Street.
10:34 a.m.-Officers investigated a vehicle striking a parked car in the 800 block of High Street.
11:24 a.m.-Officers checked the 400 block of West Beal Avenue after a report of a suspicious man in the area.
12:57 p.m.-Officers assisted the Bucyrus Fire Department in the 1500 block of Hopley Avenue.
1:33 p.m.-Officers assisted Crawford County Humane Society in the 200 block of Gaius Street.
3:03 p.m.- Officers assisted a person experiencing mental problems.
3:13 p.m.- A two-vehicle accident report was taken on North Walnut Street.
3:31 p.m.-A vandalism report was made in the 100 block of West Mansfield Street.
3:33 p.m.- Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 1300 block of Home Circle Dr. A 33-year-old man then barricaded himself in his house. He was then later taken into custody to be evaluated for mental issues. No one was injured in the incident.
4:46 p.m.- A report of a fight was made in the area of Hopley Avenue.
6:29 p.m.- A report of a dog biting a person was taken in the 600 block of North Sandusky Avenue.
6:35 p.m.- A 911 hangup call was investigated in the 100 block of Plymouth Street.
7:06 p.m.- A welfare check was requested in the 700 block of Earl Street.
9:53 p.m.-A person came to the station to speak with an officer regarding unwanted text messages.

5:27 a.m.-Officers responded to a domestic situation in the 1700 block of Marion Road.
6:11 a.m.-Officers assisted at the Bucyrus ER regarding a disorderly patient.
