Bucyrus police officers Neil Assenheimer and Scott Davis went looking under a bed Wednesday. They didn’t find the boogeyman or even monsters that come out in the dark. What they did find was the man they were looking for.
Twenty-six-year-old William Dean was found under the bed and his wife, 27-year-old Crystal Dean, was found in the same bedroom under a pile of clothes.
“They (police officers) were looking for people wanted on search warrants and got a tip they were there,” Bucyrus Police Chief Dave Koepke said.
The couple was located in a friend’s apartment.
“This was drug-related in the sense that people get caught up in drug abuse and their lifestyle leads to getting caught up in illegal activity,” Koepke said. “They get into bad situations because of drug abuse and don’t take care of daily responsibilities.”
Both Deans were wanted on outstanding Crawford County warrants. Both Deans were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and drug abuse instruments, possession of heroin and also served with a city income tax summons. The Deans were taken into custody and transported to the Crawford County Justice Center.
In an unrelated case Bucyrus police also arrested 31-year-old Michael Hickman for possession of heroin, possession of drug abuse instruments and an active Crawford County warrant. Hickman was also taken to the Crawford County jail.
Wednesday was an extremely busy day for the Bucyrus police. They also arrested Shawn Davidson for domestic violence and in another domestic violence case arrested Donna Harriger and Paula Blankenship.
Kayla St. Clair was arrested on an outstanding Crawford County warrant and served with a city income tax summons.
