The law and order arms of the City of Bucyrus are teaming up to shine the spotlight on those wanted by the law.

Bucyrus City Law Director Rob Ratliff announced during Tuesday’s City Council meeting that he and Bucyrus Police Chief Dave Koepke would be hosting Bucyrus’ Most Wanted, a program that will take place during council meetings.

Ratliff and Koepke planned to roll out that program last night but their most wanted person – the man who allegedly committed an armed robbery at the Clark gas station on Marion Road and Southern Avenue – was arrested in Georgia. The other person they hoped to make the public aware of was picked up by police in Marion.

Mayor Jeff Reser said construction is moving along with the sewer repair on Hopley Avenue. The crews working on the project ran into one glitch with a house on the corner, which will need a separate line as it is not tapped into the sewer system. Reser said Hopley will remain closed as the repairs continue.

The city may see a little extra revenue come in with the help of the Verizon tower. It was announced during the council meeting that the city received a new contract proposal from the company, along with 10 other proposals from companies interested in buying or leasing space for their antennas. The matter was put into committee for further review.

A joint committee meeting has been scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday in Council Chambers.
