Today is Eric Grohe Day in Bucyrus, in large part because Mayor Roger Moore says it is. Moore made the declaration on Monday that Oct. 15, 2013, would be Eric Grohe Day in the city.

Grohe is the artist who designed and painted Great American Crossroads mural on Washington Square in 1999 and then returned to town in 2000 to paint the Lady Liberty mural on North Sandusky Avenue. Grohe has been in town this year to make some needed repairs on the murals.

Moore noted that the murals have been featured in newspapers and magazines as well as on television and has brought positive attention and publicity to the city.

Grohe currently lives with his wife Kathy in Marysville, Washington.
