BUCYRUS—Governor Mike DeWine announced recently that additional CARES Act funding is available for small business owners, non-profit organizations and other Ohioans who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mayor Jeff Reser said in a press release on Monday that the new package affects Bucyrus in a positive way.
“Businesses with no more than 25 employees will be able to apply for a grant that will help businesses pay for a variety of expenses, including mortgage payments or rent, utility payments, salaries, and many other costs,” said Reser.
He said there is also additional funding for the Bar and Restaurant Assistance Fund in the amount of $37.5 million and that applications will be available for that program on Nov. 2 as well.
All applications will be available beginning Monday, Nov. 2 at www.businesshelp.ohio.gov.
Reser said the DeWine/Husted administration is also allocating $50 million from the Coronavirus Relief Fund to 47 Community Action Agencies to provide rent, mortgage and water/sewer assistance to Ohioans in need who have an annual income at or below 200 percent poverty level.
“For a family of four, that is an annual income of $52,400. Balances incurred from April 1, 2020, are eligible,” said Reser.
Those applications will also become available on Nov. 2 on the same website. “Thank you to the DeWine/Husted Administration for directing CARES Act monies for our businesses and individuals who need assistance in dealing with the effects of COVID-19. I urge all eligible businesses and individuals to take advantage of the newly available funds on Nov. 2,” said Reser.
