BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Bucyrus Mayor Bruce Truka announced on Thursday the successful completion of the sale of the former Swan Rubber Building located at 428 E. Mansfield St.
The mayor has been collaborating with a buyer from Columbus for some time, and the sale was recently finalized.

On-site at the building, Truka met with representatives from the Richland County Building Department, local safety forces, Safety Service Director Tommy Starner, as well as the new owner Samuel Katz and his associate Lee Chase. Together, they addressed safety concerns regarding the brick façade and discussed plans to secure the structure.
To prevent further erosion of the brickwork, the new owners will begin immediate removal of the loose brick façade.
Katz has expressed intentions to incorporate a business into the building, along with plans for community-involved projects, aiming to revitalize the area
