BUCYRUS—Tony Chatman, 44, of Bucyrus, appeared in Crawford County Common Pleas Court on Thursday and pleaded guilty to one count of tampering with evidence, a felony of the third degree punishable with up to 36 months in prison.

In an agreed plea negotiation, Crawford County Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold sentenced Chatman to 9 months in prison. He also accepted the state’s request to dismiss one count of domestic violence.

Chatman will forfeit all drug-related property, including cell phones, to the proper authorities. When asked if he had anything to say, Chatman apologized to the jail and the court.

“I understand there was some trouble out there, and I accept your apology,” Leuthold said.

Chatman will receive 35 days of jail time credit.
