BUCYRUS—The driver involved in a single-vehicle crash on Friday night was issued a citation by Bucyrus Police.
According to Lt. Tom Walker, public information officer for the police department, Devin Rupe, 20, Bucyrus, said he fell asleep at the wheel while driving his vehicle on Marion Road.
“He was heading north on Marion Road when his car went off the roadway and hit a power pole. It came to rest in the yard of Los Arrieros at 1710 Marion Road,” said Walker.
Rupe was issued a citation for failure to control and was not injured in the crash. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
The Bucyrus Fire Department and Portsmouth Ambulance Service assisted at the scene. Walker said alcohol and speed do not appear to have been factors in the crash.
