The Crawford County Common Pleas Court added a second person to a new diversion program that could help those struggling with addiction.
Darek Dennison, 27, of Bucyrus plead guilty to community control violations in which he failed to report a change of address, failed to report to his probation officer and tested positive for heroin and marijuana in August. As part of the plea agreement Dennison was approved to enter a Medically Assisted Treatment Program (MAT) in which he will receive an injection on a monthly basis for a year.
Crawford County Common Pleas Court Judge Russell B. Wiseman addressed Dennison.
“I think this solution could help you a lot. The way it works we refer people through committee; the committee then sends the referral to the ADAMH Board,” Wiseman said. “There are a lot of folks trying to help people like you.”
Dennison will be held at the Crawford County Justice Center until the diversion program begins.
The program is new to the Crawford County Justice System, and is part of a $5 million statewide grant through the ADAMH Board.
