SULPHUR SPRINGS—The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Monday.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene of a one-vehicle crash at 4:05 p.m. on Ridgeton-Annapolis Road, west of Connely Road. Members of the Liberty Township Volunteer Fire Department and Portsmouth Ambulance Service were also dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a red 2013 Dodge Charger on its driver’s side in the westbound lane of Ridgeton-Annapolis Road. The vehicle had flipped as a result of the crash and the driver was ejected. There were no passengers in the car at the time of the crash.

Lifeflight was called and Jeffrey A. Steiner, 56, Bucyrus, was taken to Bucyrus Community Hospital by Portsmouth Ambulance. Steiner died from his injuries sustained in the crash at the hospital.

Bloomfield Towing removed the Dodge from the crash scene and alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
