BUCYRUS—Just days after a Bucyrus man was found dead in his Mansfield Street apartment a murder charge and arraignment was held today in Crawford County Municipal Court.
Brian Russell, 28, of Bucyrus was charged with murder in the death of his roommate Bryan Cole, 53.
Bucyrus Police were called to do a welfare check on Cole on April 22nd. When they received no response to their knocking on the door they forced entry and found Cole’s Body.
During the investigation, police learned that Russell lived in the apartment with Cole.
Russell was located and taken to the Crawford County Jail where he was held pending the investigation.
Later in the evening, Russell confessed to assaulting Cole on April 20th.
Crawford County Municipal Court Judge Shane Leuthold arraigned Russell via video from the Crawford County Jail at 1 pm today. Judge Leuthold ordered Russell held without bond. He appointed attorney Jerry Thompson to represent him.
