John Kenny says he can’t remember if he assaulted a woman at a party in June, but pleaded guilty to the charges anyway.
Kenny, 23, of Bucyrus, waived prosecution by indictment and pleaded guilty on a bill of information to two counts of aggravated assault in Crawford County Common Pleas Court Tuesday. Kenny admitted that on June 12, 2013 he had, while under the influence of a sudden fit of rage at a sudden provocation, assaulted a female and male victim.
“I have no recollection if I actually did or not,” Kenny said when it came time to admit to count one of the charges, which involved assaulting the female.
His lawyer, Brad Starkey, said that a lot of the people at the residence had been under the influence of alcohol at the time. Kenny admitted to remembering assaulting the male victim.
Kenny was sentenced to three years on community control. He was also ordered to complete a drug and alcohol assessment and any follow-up treatment. He was fined $750 and was credited for 84 days of jail time. Kenny’s second-degree burglary charge was dismissed with prejudice.
Kristie Clark, 38, of Crestline pleaded guilty to obstructing justice, a felony five offense. Clark admitted that on April 11, 2013, police came to her home looking for her brother and lied to them when she said he wasn’t there. Clark was sentenced to three years on community control and fined $750.
