BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Get ready for non-stop laughter as Bucyrus Little Theatre‘s (BLT) Teen Improv Troupe takes the stage for their high-energy, bracket-style comedy showdown, “March Mayhem!” This one-night-only event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2026, at the theatre located at 130 Songer Ave., Bucyrus, Ohio.

What Is March Mayhem!?

Inspired by the excitement of March Madness, this comedic tournament pits teams of talented teen improvisers against each other in a battle of wit, creativity, and quick thinking. Audiences will cheer as the troupe breaks into four teams to compete in a series of uproarious improv games, with one ultimate champion crowned by a combination of judges and crowd energy. Expect crowd favorites like “Boris” (a twist on good cop/bad cop with an invisible twist), “Oscar-Winning Moment,” “Party Quirks,” “Superheroes,” and more. Plus, warm-ups such as fast-paced Three-Line Scenes that showcase pantomime, “yes, and…” collaboration, and fearless creativity.

The 15-member troupe, ages 11–17, has been rehearsing intensely under the direction of co-coaches Lalaina Newcomer and Kevin Brown. These dedicated leaders emphasize building confidence, embracing the weird, avoiding negation (“no” is the enemy!), and fostering an inclusive, supportive environment where every teen can step out of their shell and shine. As Kevin and Lalaina shared in a recent episode of the No Small Parts podcast, the program empowers young performers to create characters, tell spontaneous stories, and thrive without scripts or props – relying purely on imagination and teamwork.

“Improv is all about being weird, being funny, and saying yes to whatever comes next,” said Lalaina. “Our kids have grown so much. They’re enthusiastic, inclusive, and ready to bring the laughs!”
