Press release
The Bucyrus Little Theatre is pleased to announce auditions for its summer children’s
production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Jr., adapted from Disney’s Broadway production and the Academy Award-winning film.
Based on one of Hans Christian Anderson’s most beloved stories, this musical is an enchanting look at the sacrifices we all make for love and acceptance. In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home – and her fins – behind to live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she’s the girl whose enchanting voice is the one he’s been looking for.
Auditions will be held on two dates: Sunday afternoon, May 15 at 2:00 p.m, and Monday evening, May 16 at 7:00 p.m. Both audition opportunities will take place at the Bucyrus Little
Theatre, 130 Songer Avenue, Bucyrus, OH 44820.
Those auditioning are asked to sing a prepared song (no longer than two minutes) that shows voice range. Please bring sheet music for the pianist or a karaoke CD – no a capella or cell phones.
In addition, kids will be asked to read from the script and learn a short dance. Please wear shoes suitable to dancing – no sandals. Ages: At least age 7 and going into second grade in the fall up to age 18.
