BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Summer is in full swing at the Bucyrus Little Theatre (BLT), and there’s a lot to look forward to. The theatre is buzzing with anticipation for the summer youth production of Aladdin Jr., the annual membership drive, and the kickoff of the 2024-25 season.

Aladdin Jr. Takes Center Stage

Directed by Amy Parsons and sponsored by TNM Transport LLC, Aladdin Jr. promises to be a hit. The show, scheduled for July 25-28, 2024, features a large cast of talented young actors. This exciting stage adaptation of the legendary tale of Aladdin, Jasmine, and the fast-talking Genie promises magic carpet rides, mystical caves, and a battle against the evil sorcerer, Jafar. Tickets are on sale now, and early booking is recommended as summer youth productions regularly sell out.

Behind The Scenes: Summer Theatre Bootcamp

In partnership with the Crawford County Art Center, BLT is hosting a “Behind The Scenes” Summer Theatre Bootcamp from July 8-12. This five-day series offers hands-on activities and introduces participants to the world of theatre. Registration closes on Wednesday, July 7, 2024.

Annual Meeting and Membership Drive

BLT’s annual meeting for members will take place at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, at 130 Songer Avenue. The theatre is also in the midst of its annual membership drive. Members enjoy benefits including tickets to shows and advance ticket sales for the 2024-25 season.

#CrawfordForGood Campaign

BLT is participating in the #CrawfordForGood campaign later this month. The theatre encourages the community to support their local theatre during this campaign.

Audition Alert: Sweeney Todd

Those yearning to be part of an exciting show this fall have the chance to audition for a role in BLT’s October production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

BLT is offering a range of Aladdin Jr. merchandise for cast, crew, and supporters. Items can be ordered online and shipped directly to your home.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Businesses have the opportunity to become a “Presenting Sponsor” for one of the 2024-25 Season Shows. For only $500, sponsors receive prominent “top billing” on all show collateral, inclusion of their logo or company name on all marketing material, special acknowledgement prior to the start of the show, and two tickets to the show.
