BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)-In a developing criminal case, Deborah Miller, 64, the owner and operator of the Hideaway Country Inn, 1601 State Route 4 in Bucyrus, returned to court on Tuesday to face two additional felony charges related to the theft of firearms. Initially indicted on three counts of theft of a firearm, Miller is now facing additional allegations of theft and intimidation, both classified as third-degree felonies. Each is punishable with up to 36 months in prison.
The initial charges stemmed from accusations that Miller stole weapons from a patron of her establishment. Recent developments in the case have prompted the prosecutor to include a gun specification to each of the three theft charges. According to court documents, “The Grand Jurors further find and specify that Deborah Ann Miller had a firearm on or about her person or under her control while committing the offense.” In Ohio, this specification carries mandatory prison time regardless of the underlying felony.
Despite the escalation of charges, Miller remains free on a personal recognizance bond as she awaits further legal proceedings.
