In April, Bucyrus High School graduate Kennedy Clare Sharrock II was at home when he had a seizure. After being taken by ambulance to a hospital near his home near Columbus, he was diagnosed with a tumor on the left front portion of this brain.
Kennedy, who practiced medicine until 2007 when he had a fall that caused a brain injury ending his medical career, underwent surgery to remove the Glioblastoma five days after his diagnosis. Since then, Kennedy has received 12 weeks of chemotherapy treatments and is on a continuing plan of chemotherapy to prevent new tumors from forming.
Kennedy’s wife, Heather, has not been able to return to employment since her husband’s diagnosis since she is needed at home to take care of him and their two small children. Medical and living expenses have become overwhelming to the family and they have realized they cannot do it alone and are asking for help.
Kennedy is the son of the late Judge Kennedy Sharrock and former Bucyrus City Council member Wanda Sharrock.
A Fun Run has been organized to be held at Kennedy’s uncle Larry Williams’ business, The Crazy Fox in Bucyrus, at 12:30 p.m. Saturday with kickstands going up at 1 p.m. Riders are expected back by 4 p.m. and an auction of donated items will be held along with a 50/50 drawing, food and live entertainment.
The fee for riders is $15 or $25 for couples.
“Whether you ride, drive or choose to just come hang out at the Fox, everyone is welcome,” said Wanda.
The event is being organized by Wanda, and Kennedy’s two sisters, Aaron and Shannon, along with Williams. All proceeds will go to Kennedy and Heather for living expenses and medical bills.
The family requests that people come to this fun event and to all keep Kennedy and his family in prayer.
