There were plenty of oohs and aahs at the Crawford County Fairgrounds Thursday night, as the Kiwanis Club of Bucyrus held their annual Fourth of July fireworks display.
Prior to the show beginning, families set up throughout the fairgrounds, to find the perfect viewing location, eat a late snack, and socialize with one another.
“We come here every year for the Fourth of July fireworks we have done it ever since my kids were young, we have done it for a long time,” Donna Naufzinger said. “My favorite part is what is going on. Just the socializing, the entertainment, watching the kids play, it is just fun.”
The fireworks display costs about $8,500 to produce, and featured about 12,000 explosions over a twenty minute interval. The Kiwanis Club funds the fireworks display with corporate sponsors, selling glow ropes at the event, the street of flags on Sandusky Avenue, as well as collect donations from people as they leave the gates from the show.
