BUCYRUS—The Bucyrus Fire Department was kept busy over the course of three days as they responded to multiple calls for assistance.
On Thursday, March 30th, the department responded to a medical call on South Sandusky Avenue and later assisted a resident on Cleland Street. The following day, the department responded to a medical call on Whetstone Street and another on Kerstetter Road in Bucyrus Township. They also transported a resident from West Mansfield Street to Bucyrus hospital. Later that day, the department joined forces with the police to assist a resident with mental problems on Wayne Avenue.
On April 1st, the department responded to multiple calls, including a medical call on South Sandusky Avenue, a down cable wire on Prospect and Lucas Street, and a tree down on Kaler and Euclid Avenue. They also responded to a medical alarm activation on Cleland Street, as well as reports of a roof blown off on East Mansfield Street, a tree down on Monnett Street, and a tree and wires down on Hill Street. The department also assisted with a tree down on the railroad tracks on Wallace Street and a smell of smoke on South Lane. They responded to a down telephone line on Sears Street and transported a resident from Farmview Avenue and Hayes Avenue to Bucyrus hospital. Finally, the department responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on Ohio Drive and transported a resident from Marion Road to Bucyrus hospital.
The Bucyrus Fire Department serves the residents of Bucyrus and is dedicated to keeping the community safe. They remind residents to call 911 in case of an emergency and to always have working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in their homes.
