BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—In the early hours of Tuesday, January 23, the Bucyrus Fire Department responded to a significant structure fire on South Spring St. The call, which came in at 8:07 a.m., led to a swift and effective response from local fire crews.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a substantial fire on the first floor of the structure. Thanks to their quick actions and expertise, they were able to extinguish most of the fire rapidly. However, it took several hours for the crews, with the valuable assistance from the Holmes Township Volunteer Fire Department, to completely mop up the area and ensure no further extension of the fire.
In a statement, the Bucyrus Fire Department expressed their gratitude towards the City of Bucyrus, Crawford County West Joint Ambulance District, Crawford County Now, and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office for their unwavering support during the incident.
The department also confirmed that, thankfully, no injuries were reported in the incident. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
