The Bucyrus Family Dollar on South Lane Street was never gone, just out of reach for a brief time only to return bigger and better.

The store made its official re-opening debut Saturday with a Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting. Manager Tammy Bayless talked about what the remodeled store now offers its clientele.

“We have a wide variety of expanded food items and more variety for the customer and what they were asking for as far as more supplies, cleaning supplies and pet supplies too,” Bayless said. “(We’ve) expanded a lot of those with great comp prices too.”

The manager noted the expanded space is already being used and will come in handy in the spring.

“(We’re) excited about having the new space available to expand and display more items that customers are asking for. Some of our items are arriving every day now,” Bayless said. “We will be having our lawn and garden set up, Easter is set already, so we do have a wide variety of everything.”

The local store employs six people and Saturday’s first 50 shoppers received a $5 gift card to be used at the store.
