BUCYRUS – A Wynford grad “has you covered” when it comes to window tinting.
Aden Caldwell, 20, is the owner of Custom Tint Solutions, LLC, 2435 Spore-Brandywine Road, a business that specializes in automotive and residential window tinting.
“I just kind of wanted to be my own boss,” said Caldwell, who set up shop in his home garage two years ago after working a few years in the field. “I just wanted to start a business but didn’t know what exactly until I found window tinting.”
The process, Caldwell said, begins with a thorough cleaning of the windows. A slip solution of baby shampoo and distilled water is applied next, followed by the actual film. Excess water between the film and glass is then removed with a squeegee.
Custom Tint Solutions, Caldwell said, uses only the Geoshield brand of window films, which come in different types and are made from high quality weatherable polyester designed to withstand extreme conditions.
In addition to offering privacy, automotive window tinting significantly reduces glare when driving, which is especially beneficial in the winter months, Caldwell said. “It’s always nice to have some privacy in your vehicle and for security reasons too.”
Caldwell said some customers opt for the paint protection of specialty ceramic products, which block out 85-percent of harmful ultraviolet light. “Ceramic UV protection is a really good film if you want to protect your car’s interior,” he said.
Residential window films have also seen advances recently in materials and technology, he said, allowing them to not only be nearly invisible but also energy efficient, which can reap savings on heating and cooling bills.
Every coating offered, Caldwell said, comes with a no-fault lifetime warranty. “My whole motto is we want to give our customers the best possible service and the best quality of materials available,” he said.
