BUCYRUS—Bucyrus Elementary School is pleased to announce performances for their upcoming musical, CATS: Young Actors Edition. Performances will be live, on-stage at Bucyrus Elementary Auditorium at 7 pm on March 18, 19, and at 2 pm on March 20.
CATS is set amongst a larger-than-life school auditorium, with nods to the building’s history worked into the set, and is alive with purr-fect felines, including Rum Tum Tugger, Mr. Mistoffelees, Macavity, Jennyanydots, Old Deuteronomy, Skimbleshanks, and Grizabella. The Jellicle Cats come out to play on one special night of the year—the night of the Jellicle Ball. One by one, they tell their stories for the amusement of Old Deuteronomy, their wise and benevolent leader, who must choose one of the Cats to ascend to The Heaviside Layer and be reborn into a whole new Jellicle life.
The cast consists of 30 students from Bucyrus Elementary School. The show is directed by Betsy Gerhart and choreographed by Matt Feck.
Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Bucyrus Elementary School is located at 245 Woodlawn Ave. in Bucyrus.
