BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Mayor Bruce Truka had announced that the Bucyrus Compost Site will open its doors earlier than planned to assist residents in disposing of debris following strong winds experienced on Friday. The site, located at 1500 West Southern Ave., will be accessible this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Mayor Truka emphasized the importance of providing citizens with the opportunity to clear away debris resulting from the recent wind event. “We would like citizens to have the option to get rid of debris following this wind event,” Truka stated.

Originally slated to open for the season on March 16, the compost site will maintain regular operating hours thereafter: Sunday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Residents are reminded that no commercial waste will be accepted at this facility.
