The City of Bucyrus compost site will reopen April 1. The compost will be open from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays and from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
The site is for yard waste of Bucyrus residents only. Residents should be prepared to provide photo identification showing proof of residency.
Yard waste consisting of leaves, grass clippings, brush, garden waste, tree trunks and stumps, holiday trees, and clippings from trees or shrubs will be accepted while commercial waste will not be accepted. All waste must be removed from bags and containers. The city has the right to refuse waste materials it feels is not in compliance with its rules.
The compost site is located at the Bucyrus Wastewater Treatment Plant, 1500 W. Southern Ave.
