Bucyrus, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW) — The Bucyrus community was shaken last Thursday when a local company, Diamond Wipes, abruptly closed its doors, leaving approximately 40 employees—including both full-time and temporary workers—without jobs.
The sudden closure, attributed to decisions made by the company’s ownership, has left many families facing uncertainty, especially with the holiday season approaching.
In response to the crisis, citizens have come together to support those affected.
A community group has been organized, led by former Bucyrus Councilwoman Lisa Alsept, to assist displaced workers during this challenging time.
Additionally, the group has reached out to Hord’s Cares Project for support, aiming to provide families with food for Thanksgiving.
Financial assistance and donations are being actively sought, and all contributions are welcome.
For those who would like to donate, there are a few options: Venmo donations can be sent to Blair Halm, with further information available on Halm’s Facebook page. Checks may be mailed to Good Hope Lutheran Church, 129 W. Charles St., Bucyrus, OH 44820. Donors are asked to write “Diamond Wipes Mission” in the memo line.
Crawford County Now will continue to follow this developing story.
