The Bucyrus City School District today announced the release of a new, district-wide app from SchoolWay, a leading developer of mobile applications for K-12 school systems and institutions. Brought to the Bucyrus City School District by Jostens, the free mobile app is available for Apple and Android mobile devices and keeps the entire school community connected to the district’s information they need delivered directly to smartphones and mobile devices.
Understanding the busy schedules of students and parents, the Bucyrus City School District’s official app from SchoolWay allows mobile users to keep track of important district information and receive notifications from the district faculty and staff, all in real-time via push notification and email messaging. The mobile app enhances student, parent and community engagement by providing users with access to information like school activities, grade books, notes from teachers, athletic schedules and scores, lunch menus, and school calendars when and where they choose to view.
“The Bucyrus City School District’s official mobile app empowers anyone in the community to stay connected with the information they want and need right on their mobile devices,” Superintendent Kevin Kimmel said. “The release of this app for the district is an example of our commitment to provide our community members all of the district’s information conveniently and easily, while making it more accessible than ever. We are excited about how our district’s app will lead to a stronger, more connected school community.”
The SchoolWay mobile app is a simple, secure and reliable way to send protected one-way mobile and web messaging to Bucyrus City School District students, parents and homes through SMS/text and email applications. The secure and flexible communication platform allows the district to easily manage, control and deliver content that enhances the school-to-community communications process. Features for the Bucyrus City School District’s official mobile app include:
- Push and email messaging from both the district and school site levels
- Instant safety notification and alert reporting
- GPS mapping and navigation
- School calendars
- Online grade book access
- Staff directories with one touch dialing
- Multiple language options
- Lunch menus, athletic information, and much more
The mobile communication app was brought to the Bucyrus City School District at no cost through Jostens, as part of the company’s commitment to serving schools, parents and students since 1897.
“SchoolWay is proud to be working with the Bucyrus City School District to create a faster, more reliable messaging option for safe communications via mobile devices for the entire school community,” Jostens Chief Operating Officer Murad Velani said. “Mobile is quickly becoming the default communication mode for students, parents and school officials. Jostens created SchoolWay to allow schools to quickly communicate with their community, and community members to connect with their schools through a free and feature rich mobile platform that will continue to evolve based on their needs.”
