BUCYRUS—On Thursday evening, the Bucyrus City School Board held their Organizational and monthly meetings.
At the meeting, Mrs. Jenna Bollinger was sworn on to the board after being chosen by the board to fill the empty seat. Bollinger will serve until either she is reelected, or her successor is.
Randy Blankenship was elected president, and Christa Graves was elected vice president.
Jenna Bollinger was appointed as the legislative liaison, Morgan Jones was appointed to the Pioneer board, and Randy Blankenship and Christa Graves remained on the athletic council.
The board meetings for 2022 were approved as the third Thursday of each month and will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Lincoln Administrative Center.
The district has held two preliminary meetings to discuss what would happen if they sold the Lincoln Building, which currently houses the central office. There have been no decisions made yet, but there are conversations being held with potential buyers.
Superintendent Matt Chrispin announced that grant money will be used to bring in Focus 3, a nationally renowned culture/climate training outfit. All board members and the district leadership team are being asked to participate, and union leaders are being invited to attend as well.
The board approved the purchase of sixty MacBook Airs at the cost of fifty-eight thousand, six hundred and eighty dollars, and ninety-five BenQ boards at the cost of three hundred and thirty-two thousand, five hundred dollars. These will be purchased using ESSER III funds.
The next meeting is on February 17 at 5:30 p.m.
