BUCYRUS—The Bucyrus Board of Zoning and Appeals met Tuesday afternoon in Bucyrus City Council Chambers to address a request by a Bucyrus businessman who intends to reopen the former Southland Drive Thru located at 574 South Sandusky Ave.
Ritchie Singh, who has owned a gas station on Marion Road for the past ten years, told the board that his customers expressed their desire to have a gas station with a drive-thru attached. He decided to start the process by bringing the former drive-thru back to life. Singh plans to completely renovate the existing business and eventually add a full-service gas station as well.
The business, which has been closed for more than two years, had its conditional use in a neighborhood business district suspended. Singh needed the board’s approval to reinstate the conditional use status. He also requested paperwork from the board that would allow him to proceed with the appropriate licensing to sell beer. Singh told the board if approved; the drive-thru will be operational in 2-3 months.
The board voted unanimously to approve the request.
