BUCYRUS–On Thursday evening, the Bucyrus board of education held their monthly meeting.

Superintendent Bob Britton is looking into potential alternative graduation dates for this year due to a potential conflict with the regional track and field meet. Britton will present options to the board at a later date.

The board approved a one-year supplemental contract with Jon Butchko as the head varsity football coach. Butchko most recently coached at Edgewood from 2018 through the end of the 2021 season.

The most recent honorees for Stoney’s Kind Kids were recognized for their kindness in and out of the classroom.

The kids were Joycelynn Hall, Kylie Ochier, Noah Byrne, Isabella Stang, Caleb Watson, Mason Mosley, Ellynn Diller, and Dylan Coppler.

Each month’s winners receive a t-shirt that says, “I’m a kind kid,” and a Subway gift card.

The board accepted the following donations: two hundred and seventy-nine dollars and forty cents from the Bucyrus City School District Staff Scholarship Fund and two hundred and eight dollars and thirty-five cents from the Class of 1955 donation to the middle school band.

The board voted to authorize the superintendent and treasurer to proceed with the necessary steps to plan the replacement of the football press box and the home bleachers.

The next meeting is March 16 at 5:30 p.m.
