BUCYRUS – The Bucyrus City Council met for the regular meeting Tuesday night. The meeting started with visitors speaking. First to speak was Rhonda Rowland of 4571 home central road in Bucyrus. She spoke about the importance of the Bicentennial Celebration for Bucyrus taking place next year. Next to speak was Wanda Sharrock, of 1485 Oakridge Drive, Bucyrus. Sharrock expresses her concerns about the rising COVID number in Crawford County. She spoke of the concerns she has of the length of time it takes to get results back from the Crawford County Health Department. “I feel very sorry for our health department, that is why I am here tonight because they are overwhelmed with what’s going on in our community with COVID. They cannot keep up with calling people and letting them know “you were with somebody who had COVID and you need to be tested and you need to be quarantined.’’ She continued to speak about the importance of taking COVID seriously. Noting that 3 council members were not wearing masks, she went on to say, ” I see people tonight- really I don’t know if you are taking it seriously, but I have a nephew-in-law, my niece’s husband, that passed away from COVID so it has hit my family drastically.” Council president Kurt Fankhouser followed up explaining that the health department has received around $50,000 that has gone to mostly tracing and manpower.

Two council members, Lisa Alsept and Kevin Myers were not present at the meeting, but were there via telephone. The next Council Meeting for their Regular Commitee meeting, Thursday, November 19, 2020.
