MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW COM)—The Buckeye Imagination Museum in Mansfield has canceled an upcoming museum event rental due to backlash from the community.
The 2024 Queer Prom Event, A Star Is Born, was scheduled to take place at the museum on February 10.
After community outcry, the museum issued the following statement on their social media page:
“Thank you for the concern regarding the recent scheduled rental event. As information about the event has been shared with us, the museum has concluded that we are no longer the facility who will host this event. At this time we are also taking steps to further ensure the appropriateness of future events at our museum.”
No updates regarding the event have been made public at this time.
