Buckeye Central Local Schools Superintendent Tara Meyerink and the Buckeye Central Board of Education are hosting a series of community meetings. All members of the district are encouraged to attend. The first of six meetings will be Tuesday, July 30 at the Bloomville Community Center from 7:00 – 8:30 pm.

“The purpose of these meetings is to obtain input from community members about the future of our school,” says Meyerink. “Each meeting will be an informal discussion led by two volunteer facilitators who are not employed by the district. Each of the six meetings will have a different topic.”

The first meeting on July 30 will focus on student growth and academic achievement. Topics of discussion might include the district’s role in helping parents and their children get ready for school, what “grade” community members would give Buckeye Central schools, what the characteristics of a well-educated student are, and how should student success be measured.

“We want to provide the best possible educational experience for all students,” says Meyerink. “Getting feedback and having parents be a part of the educational process is crucial for the academic and social growth of our students and of our district.”
